THE ACTING CURRICULUM

An actor is a performer that performs a given character on stage, television, film screen or any other platform maintaining its spirit, depth, intonations, body movements and placement in the given Script. The craft of an actor can be judged from its ability to engage the audience. Our style of teaching begins with the students willing to appreciate, dissect, evaluate and discuss the work of other prominent actors all across the global cinematic scape.
As a student we shall encourage you to participate in group viewings, discussions film and television classics. The first week focusses on giving you the bird's eye view of the 'World of Acting.'

Week 1: ACTING OVERVIEW
The global styles and classic performances  

Week 2: YOUR BODY
The asset of an actor is his body. We teach you how to use your body to convey the character that you portray. Using various methodologies for acting your training begins now.

Week 3: SPEECH BASICS
Sounds and the articulation. The basics of speech to deliver the messages is the subject matter of this class.

Week 4: BREATH, BODY AND VOICE
Our body instruments comprise of breath, body, voice, imagination, ability to improvise, impulse, expression, and soul.

Week 5: CHARACTER AND SPONRANEITY
Improvisation is the art of discovering the character and assimilation into it. We teach improvisation using groups of students in this class.

Week 6: THE THEATRE PERFORMANCE
Delivering a heightened performance for live audience is the subject matter of this class. Right from body movements, gestures, expressions to the intonations are taught in Week Six and Seven.

Week 7: THE THEATRE PERFORMANCE
Delivering a heightened performance for live audience is the subject matter of this class. Right from body movements, gestures, expressions to the intonations are taught in Week Six and Seven.

Week 8: THE MOVIE SCRIPT
Studying a movie script and character understanding are the most important things for an actor. This requires focus on how to read and understand a movie script and more importantly, the character.

Week 9: FACING THE CAMERA
Acting for Camera has its own nuances, how to face, adjust and move body according to camera positions and movements is the subject matter of this class.

Week 10: FACING THE CAMERA 2
As above includes Make up and Lighting

Week 11: THE REHEARSAL LAB
Understanding and Rehearsing characters, improvising with several acting styles and techniques.

Actual performances in isolation and in the Group

Learning outcome: The student comes out prepared for acting on stage, television and film as a Junior Actor who understands a Film Set, Script, Characters, Camera movements. The student is employable for a Film, Television Set as an Actor, Production Assistant or other smaller roles.
